讲座题目：畅谈生物化工技术在生物资源生物炼制中的作用

主要内容：
      作为替代化石燃料的能源，基于它的可再生性和环境安全优点，生物资源的重要性日益增长。植物生物资源的木质纤维素生物质可以用在许多方面。本讲座将讨论怎样用不同的方法从生物资源经过生物炼制加工成各类产品。在生物燃料方面，如何将单一类型的生物资源生产几种不同的产品，也是讨论话题。
      Bioresources have become increasingly important as the source for renewable and environmentally safe alternatives to fossil fuels for energy, chemicals and other raw materials for the manufacture of a wide variety of products. The lignocellulose biomass from plant bioresources can be utilized in many ways. This talk will show how different products can be produced from biomass by various processes and will include the concept of the biorefinery whereby several different products can be simultaneously produced from a single type of biomass, and holds promise as a major technology for the future.
主讲简介：
      Greg Duns，雷格•邓博士，男，博士/高级研究员，加拿大籍，于滑铁卢大学获得化学学士和硕士学位，博士学位及博士后是在加拿大的麦克马斯特大学。曾在安大略省政府农业部的科研实验室从事分析研究，然后在圭尔夫大学从事与蘑菇相关研究。2005年之后前往中国，他曾在浙江理工大学和浙江科技大学任教。于2011年回到加拿大，一直致力于艾尔克姆公司的咨询和研究，并继续与中国的研究人员从事生物资源的研究工作，目前已有45 篇英文文章发表在不同的科技杂志上。
Dr. Greg Duns was born in Canada. He graduated with B.Sc. and M.Sc. from University of Waterloo, Ph.D. from McMaster University (Canada). After a post-doctoral period at McMaster University, he worked for the Ontario Ministry of Agriculture and then for the University of Guelph. After going to China in 2005, he worked at Zhejiang Sci-tech University and Zhejiang University of Science and Technology in Hangzhou. He returned to Canada in 2011 and has been working for AirChem Consulting and Research and continues to collaborate with researchers in China. He is the author of approximately 45 research publications and 30 conference abstracts and proceedings.
